A Terrible Death, A Terrible Life

“The wife of Jim Fallon, who keeps a low doggery, died with the delirium tremens Monday afternoon. Jim’s death is looked for at any time in the same way. This was a terrible death and she lived a terrible life. She leaves four little children.” — Connersville Examiner, 17 July 1879, p. 2, column 5, “Liberty Items”.

And that is all I know about the deaths of my 3rd great-grandparents on my mother’s side:

James Jacob Fallon & Mary Rusk

They were Irish. A “low doggery” is another name for “saloon”.
